Dear Mr. Fleming,
At first I thought President Obama was not going to be the best president, but after I heard his speech I then realized how good he probably will be. I also thought that guy who did the benidiction was really funny. He said,"May the yellow be mellow, may the browns stay around, and other funny things. In past years I've never really watched inaugurations, but after I really watched one it was interesting. I hope President Obama will be a good president.

Sincerely,

as i was sitting in the class watching various people make speeches i started to wonder if people will judge african americans different, not only african americans that run for president but african americans that still have separate schools and things. i also wondered if barak will get us started on finishing the wars in places and not having as much fighting, and sending people who are brave enough to fight for our freedom to risk their life. i nalso was thinking wow he will make tons of great changes in history and many more

Dear Mr. Fleming,
When I was watching the Presidential Inauguration I was thinking to myself," I can't believe this, our first African American President and I'm able to say that I saw all of this history happening right in front of my eyes! I also thought it was cool that he has kids that are my sisters age and my age! This Inauguration was so historical and neat!!

Dear Mr. Fleming,
I am very glad that President Obama won the election and now is in office. Before now, I never thought we would have a black president before, but when I saw Obama, I had my doughts. I liked the part in the inauguration when the guy said the benidiction like "May the Yellow be Mellow, May the Black come Back, May the red stay ahead, May the Brown stay around, and May the White do what's right." I hope Obama does good for our country, because the USA is in big trouble, and somebody needs to fix it, and George W. Bush wasn't doing anything, but that's normal because he's been harming our country for eight years now, and I'm sure glad we have a new president now. I think it is very historical that we have a Black president and that we are not choosing a new president by race. I know that The United States of America's future has one name and that is "BARACK OBAMA"

Dear Mr. Fleming,
As I was watching the inaugeration, all these thoughts were racing through my head. I love to see such a big crowd come together honoring a new piece of history. Some of the things that stuck out in my head were, I wonder how President Obama feels right now. Nervous, excided, worried, what? It was interesting hearing his speach go on. It seemed different from any other speech before. Insted of, " Yes we can" it sounded more like a "Yes we did." It will be interesting during this term, and interesting for the future. I can't wait to see how this plans out.

o( )_ I thought it was kind of funny when Barack messed up when performing his oath. Also I thought it was Intresting how he was muzlim and then in is speech talked about God. It was kind of racist when the older gentlemen who did the benidiction said "may the the yellow be mellow, and the brown stay around"

Dear Mr.Fleming,
At first, I wanted McCain to win the election and I was a little dissapointed when Obama won.But when I watched the inaugurations and listened to Obama's speech, I realized he could be a great president. This particular inaguration was really interesting to me. And also the benidiction person was really funny and weird. He kept ryming things like a poem. I hope Obama is going to be a good president and keeps all his promises.

o( )_ i think the inauguration was weird because Obama put his hand on a Muzlim while doing the oath and then talked about god in his speech. The benediction guy was funny because he talked about colors weirdly like may the browns stay around and other funny things.

Dear Mr. Fleming,
I think we all were very lucky to have the chance to watch this historical event. I always wanted to watch a president being sworn in but I never got around to watch it. But now I can and got to see a important part of our country's proud history unfold. I am very anxious to see what will happen as Obama is in office and what he will do to serve our nation. I believe that with him in office, fixing our country's problems might just be in reach.

dear Mr.Fleming,
the inauguration was sort of boring, listing to the long speeches that most of the time i did not quite comprehend, but over all the inauguration was very interesting.I did not think the inauguration would be so long, it is still going on as i type, everybody there is probebley tired. Anyway two things i did notice is that in the begining while the inauguration was going on the camera would show Obamah and it looked like he was in shock that he is the president and when he was saying his oath he couldnt say it really well. I think Obamah will be a good president.

The Inauguration was full of surprises! I hope Obama will keep "the Brown around, bring the Black back, make the yellow mellow, wish the red luck ahead and keep the white on the right track". I also like the way Obama uses all that vocabulary. He must have studied hard...
I hope our next Latino and Asian presidents are coming soon too!

Well today I was home sick so I was asleep and my mom woke me up to see history happen.I really was not a fan of Obama but what I saw on that T.V. was amazing.Obama's speech was pretty powerful. But it was funny when he messed up on the oath. Aretha Franklin's hat was silly. But boy can she sing! It was pretty cool to watch the former presidents walk down the aisle. The T.V. reporter said that the Obama daughters get to do a scavenger hunt tonight all through the White House. Since I was at home I watched former president George Bush be escorted by the Obamas to the presidential helicopter. As I watched Bush wave bye I started to feel sad. Even though I didn't always agree whith him he was going to be gone. When Obama was in the oval office I thought to myself"we officially have a new president. What a day. your student, B#5

Dear Mr. Fleming,
It still humors me how Justice John Roberts mixed up the oath. After watching all the begining acts I was ready for some humor.Even though Obama's speech wasn't great, at least it was like William Harrison's.My favorite part of the ceremony was the benediction guy who did the poem.

Dear Mr. Fleming,
I liked how obama said even though we have diffrent backrounds we all are still american and we all care about freedom and our familys. It felt cool to be excperienceing such a historical event, it kinda made me feel like that I was some one from the past by experianceing a moment that will be remembered forever. I really liked his speech but my mind started to wander after a little while becuase it was so long. I feel he will make a great president.

Dear Mr.Fleming,
I thought President Obama made a great speech. I mean it was longer than I expected, but it was very deep. Now I'm not a HUGE fan of politics or history so I didn't really understand parts of Obama's speech. But I think he was trying to get at that if we work hard we can improve America. Since I watched the whole Inauguration from beginning to end, I heard reporters interview some of the millions of Americans that were there. Some were so happy they couldn't talk or describe their feelings. Others
had tears of joy, and some showed no reaction on the outside. Some wanted Obama, others Clinton or McCain. Now I don't think I've ever watched an Inauguration before. I think I was about 2 when the last one happened. I hope Obama will make a great president.

Dear Mr Fleming,
I was absent on Tuesday and didn't watch the inauguration. I didn't want Obama to win and hope he will be a good president. I heard on the news that his speech was one of the best and he worked hard on it and and I think that shows that he will be a good president.
I think that America has crossed a great bridge and in the furture we will see much more African-Amercians and women running for president. I think this might make Afrcan-Americans and women run for office in other countries like England and other Europein countries.

Dear Mr.Fleming,
While I was sitting on my desk, watching the Inauguration for Obama, I wasn't sure what it was about, but when I kept on watching his speechs and people praying, it gave me an idea of what it was about. Ialso think that Obama will make a great President of our country and a good leader.

Dear Mr.Fleming,

When I first saw the candidates, I wanted Obama to win. I highly believe in the equality between white and black and thought it would be good to have a black President. Then, I was convinced by many people that McCain was the better canidate. First of all, I was easy to convince because McCain was Republican, and I'm Republican. Second, McCain had a good reputation around this area that was filled with good things about him. Third, McCain had experience as a leader. Long before the Inauguration, it was anounced that Obama was the next President, so I thought I'll give him a try. I wasn't so sure about being happy that Obama was our new President, but I had never seen Obama give a speech before. When he gave his speech at the Inauguration, my thoughts about him stopped dead and saw him as a whole other guy. His voice was moving and motivating. It made me want to get involved in this whole presidential thing. His words where beautifully put together. Each word seemed to build up to a majestic masterpiece. If he can do this in a speech, just a speech, then it will be amazing what he'll do for our country.
